Obituary - Amos C Walters

Amos C. WALTERS was born Sept. 28th 1861 in Edward's county, Ill., and departed this life at the home of his daughter, Wanda GOLDEN Sept. 10, 1944 aged 82 years, 11 months and 12 days.

He was united in marriage to Rosa SCHELIE and to this union three children were born. Oliver and Minnie who succeeded him in death and George still living.

Later in life he was married to Anna CRABTREE ASHER and to this union three children were born. Clarence who died in childhood and Wanda GOLDEN and Everett both living near Flora. He also leaves one stepdaughter Bertha HENDRICKS of Flora.

Early in years he confessed his faith in Christ and united with the Enterprise Baptist church. Later moving his membership to Bloom Baptist church where it remained until death.

He had been in failing health since last December but he bore his sufferings with patience, just waiting for the call of his master.

He was a kind and loving father, a good neighbor and owing to his contented jovial disposition had a host of friends both young and old. He leaves to mourn his departure, besides his children, one sister, Louisa BUNYON living near Enterprise, fifteen grandchildren, three step grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends by which he will be greatly missed.
