Death of former Homestead man
Word has been received in Homestead of the death of George Carney, at
Xenia, Clay County IL., June 6. He was the son of William CARNEY, who will
be remembered by the old residents of this place as the owner of the old saw
mill which stood at the foot of Ann Street 28 years ago. The deceased was
born in Redman's Mills & is survived by one sister, Mrs. Hamilton BLACKLEY,
of 12th Avenue, Munhall, & one brother who is located in the west. He was
the nephew of Mrs. CALVIN, of 3rd Avenue, Mrs. ARMOUR of Homestead Park &
William Carney of Whitaker.
