Obituary - Clarence V Golden

Clarence V. GOLDEN, son of Stephen J. and Laura C. GOLDEN was born near Flora, Illinois on April 12, 1867. Departed this life June 28, 1937 at the age of 70 years, two months and 16 days. He was the oldest of five children. His father, mother, two brothers, one daughter and one grandson have preceded him in death.

In his early manhood he helped on his father's farm and from this early training chose farming as his vocation. In the year 1899 he united with the Christian church at Oak Mound, under the ministry of Rev. J. A. BATTENFIELD and retained his membership there until his death. On December 25, 1900 he was united in marriage to Mary M. KURR and to this union one son, Albert, was born. She departed this life on February 26, 1907. On September 7, 1910, he united in marriage to Iva M. VAUGHAN and for 27 years they traveled life's pathways together. On November 21, 1916 a daughter, Mildred Evalena, was born, dying at birth. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Iva, his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert GOLDEN, five grandchildren, Rex Dale, Kenneth Eugene, Donald Wayne, Jo Ann, and Gerald Mac GOLDEN; one sister, Clara FRIEND; and one brother, N. O. GOLDEN, all of Flora.

All that medical aid and loving hands could do, was done for him, but the summons came for him and he responded with the implicit faith that his mission here was finished and he was going home.
