Arthur Samuel, son of Franklin and Eliza Jane KENLEY, was born Jan. 5, 1860, in Clay County, near Sailor Springs, Ill. and departed this life, August 6, 1931, age 71 years, 7 months, and 1 day.
He was united in marriage to Anna BATEMAN Nov. 11, 1883, to whom he was a devoted husband. To this union was born five children: Estella KENLEY, Edna Belle MAXWELL, both of St. Louis, Mo.; Mabel K. COLCLASURE of Xenia, Ill.; Wm. B. KENLEY of Clay City, Ill., and Anna Cleone WATTLES of Bible Grove. He was a kind and loving father.
He leaves to mourn their loss, his faithful companion, one brother, H. B. KENLEY, of Edgar, Nebr.; one granddaughter, Marjorie Louise MAXWELL, of St. Louis, the above named children, several nieces and nephews and a host of neighbors and friends.
His early years were spent near Clay City, Ill. He united with the McKinney Christian Church and served as an elder in the same so long as the McKinney church maintained an organization. His present membership is at Sailor Springs where he served as an elder until the time of his death.
