Mary Jane Mitchell was born in Richland county, November 5, 1859, to
Elizabeth and Joseph H. Mitchell, and departed this life May 30, 1930.
Her marriage to Wm. Pixley took place October 7, 1877, and to this happy
union eight children were born, Harry C., of Ferguson, Missouri; Stella
Kirk, of Olney, Illinois; J. Edward, of Ottawa, Illinois; Bertha Wood, of
Watseka, Illinois; Carrie Kesterson, of Clay City, Illinois, and Lida
Rinnert, at home. Robert and Harvey died in infancy.
Sister Pixley
united with the Sailor Springs Christian church about 35 years ago and has
lived a consistent Christian life ever since.
"Blessed are the dead
who die in the Lord from henceforth. Yea saith that they may rest from their
labors, and their works do follow them." — Rev. 14:15.
Funeral at
Sailor Springs Sunday afternoon, conducted by C. L. Doty, pastor of the
Flora Christian church, assisted by Bro. Neathery, former pastor of Sailor
Springs church.
